Color Me Refreshed

Pre-Run

 Anticipation was high for today’s run in the woods…packed up quick at work and wasted no time headed to the park…saw one other runner leave just a few seconds before me…

 
Course

...took the two mile scenic road with some side trail action over the bridge to merkle for
a long loop and then back to base

 

Wildlife

…didn’t see anything along the scenic road but over on the merkle side I saw my first cardinal of the year, a few small flocks of geese, a small group of ducks and just caught a glimpse of some white tail deer running away to the woods…


Nuts & Bolts

…legs felt rested and comfortable for the entire run…wore shorts, new balance mt 1010s, and my favorite beat navy short-sleeve shirt over a long sleeve top

 
The Run

 ...feeling the groove today…8.2 miles in 1.20.07 and burned 1228 cals..felt great to be back out after a slow week…temps were mild at 56 degrees and plenty of sun and just the hint of a breeze…doesn’t get much better in February!


Random Thoughts

…pondered what long distance events to sign up for…long distance hike in Delaware and 24 hour run are on the table…thinking of picking a “tune of the week” to post
